Hanging Out With The Bennetts

Robert Bennett and his wife Jacqueline were phenomenal hosts keeping us in their home from Sunday through Friday between the Swords show and the All Ireland All Border Show. Robert arranged the many visits to sheds etc. and took us up and down the back roads, some of which were so narrow that grass was growing in the center.

Jacqueline made us feel right at home and provided us with a very comfortable stay and a great time with lots of laughs! Jacqueline use to be a midwife and travel on a bicycle to tend to women in labor in Belfast just like the BBC show the Midwife!
This was my husbands fifth trip to Ireland but his first time to stay in an Irish home. His grandparents immigrated from Clonmel County Tipperary in 1850 after the famine. Staying with the Bennetts brought him new understanding of his father and how he was raised, he was raised Irish!

Their yard is loaded with beautiful fancy chickens. Robert has had chicken since his youth and is a judge of them too.

View out their kitchen window!

Walking near their house.
Walking down to the water to see the birds during low tide.
Checking out a nearby old Monastery. We had a wonderful time staying with the Bennetts!
