It is important to keep a watchful eye out for dirty vents, especially in weaning chicks. Weaning makes the problem more prevalent as many chick lose weight for a period before eating well! Wash the area with water to clean and make sure the vent is not plugged. Failure to act can result in chick death.Question

I have thought about using an incubator and some very famous breeders do but I already raise too many chicks so have not done it.
Perhaps someone else will share their experience on this.
