First 2014 Chicks Leave The Nest

Papa Border on the left is a stock bird but looks like his offspring with this good looking hen are real show stoppers!
Momma is in the middle and the other chick which acts like a male is on the right. Also a real beauty!

Grand Bird is very proud! The two chicks are similar but the top one pictured has a more round head where the 2nd picture chick has a flatter head. Both chicks have unbelievably piped (narrow) tails.

I have noticed that even in chicks,  the better the nutrition and feeding the better the chicks conformation when they leave the nest. I have known for a long time that the right combination of nutrients will make the confirmation so much better in young adults preparing for the show season but this is the first time I have seen the chicks look perfect when they are about to be weaned.

Well that is a beautiful head on the border chick. Definitely nicer than either parent in the limited photos!!

So glad you are spreading Border love!

all the best,
