The yellow chick is a yellow ground bird in this case a German Roller. Mom, a German roller, had only one chick so I fostered these slightly younger red ground Stafford chicks to her. They are not being colorfed at the present as I did not want a red roller! Well it wouldn't be red, when a yellow ground bird is color fed with red dyes, it is a light peach at the most. You need red genes to color red.
